Packing your bags full of human forearms. Picking pieces of brain off your face. Luring strangers into your basement to inflict pain. Are these the activities of a serial killer—or a medical researcher? Twitter users are exploring the strange overlap between the two vocations under the hashtag #SerialKillerOrScientist.

Scientists working in a range of disciplines have shared their unusual medical research stories (and perhaps unsurprisingly, paleontologists seem to experience an especially large share of sketchy moments). American Health Line's pulled out a few of our favorite tweets from Twitter users in the health sciences:
